Cityredundancies.co.uk is part of the employment law firm of Landau Law, who represent employees and senior executives throughout the UK. The main Landau Law site has information about all of your employment law rights. This site, however, relates solely to your redundancy employment rights and other related issues that you may face within a redundancy situation. Whilst the site is aimed for the City based workforce, the same laws and rights also apply where you are working outside the main UK cities.
Philip Landau and the employment team at Landau Law are known nationally as specialist employment law solicitors. We have a high profile in the work that we do, and most importantly a high success rate in negotiating favourable settlements with employers. We have collectively acted in over 25,000 such negotiations.
Redundancy situations are extremely common, whether the economy is in boom or bust, and many employees are left facing uncertainty about their rights-especially where they are not sure if their employer has followed a correct process, or whether the redundancy is genuine in the first place. This is why taking professional advice is so important.
Settlement Agreement – Do you need Independent Legal Advice? A ‘settlement agreement’ is a legally binding document following the termination of your employment. It usually provides for a severance payment by your employer, in return for which you agree not to pursue any claim you may have to an employment tribunal. Quite often, the settlement agreement will also deal with the notice element in your contract of employment and may provide for a “payment in lieu”. We are highly experienced in advising on settlement agreements, throughout the UK and we are well used to doing so quickly and efficiently. If your employer has given you (or about to give you) a settlement agreement upon which you need independent legal advice, then please contact us by email or call: 020 7100 5256.
